The software produces estimates of a rocket motor's chamber pressure and thrust based on input such as propellant properties and grain geometry. It uses the Fast Marching Method to determine how a propellant grain regresses, which allows the use of arbitrary core geometries.

It adds configuration on a per-motor basis, more nozzle settings, and many more graphing options. A lot of the code was reworked, which should make the project more enjoyable to work on in the future!

Runs a simulation of the motor and returns a simRes instance with the results. Constraints are checked, including the number of grains, if the motor has a propellant set, and if the grains have geometry errors.

The architecture's modular design makes openMotor adaptable for different use cases, from interactive motor design to automated batch processing, while maintaining a consistent approach to motor simulation.
