ShopMate is provided by Australia Post. and sure as shit aint run by them nor aussies, I've deleted my account, uesless, theft, inaccurate and added other plastic items which aren't related to my order let alone they could use smaller packaging.

The cheapest is ShopMate at $22.95 per package and $4.95 per 500g. Comgateway ship primarily by DHL and FedEx. They are also quite expensive. FedEx is the cheapest shipping option with them and was the fastest. One time they used UPS for one of my shipments. Borderlinx is somewhat cheap, and ship via DHL. I don't know if they use any other carrier.

The Shopmate / Australia Post product just goes in there usual (slow) air-mail service. At least with Shipito you can choose DHL / TNT / Fedex and have your item LAX – SYD/BNE/MEL in 2 days. The email from ShopMate / AusPost also says packages usually remain "on hold" for 4-6 hours and that I would receive an email from them when the package has been picked and is ready for payment.

Nope, you can't use ShopMate for this. I wanted to ship a parcel from Canada to Australia, but they wouldn't allow me to do this using ShopMate, as they require a US merchant and also a US tax invoice.

I looked at Shopmate but chose Shipito because it seemed that it was easier to get a parcel repacked if required with Shipito (Aust Post was looking at providing this service). Why the repacking? Some goods are packed in over-sized cartons and for all the forwarding services freight is charged on a volume/weight formula.
