GNOME 47 introduces improvements to Files search, by providing more contextual information about search performance. If any factors are affecting search results, such as if the location is not indexed or if it is a remote directory, then a new button is shown in the search bar, which shows information about the current search context.

GNOME is used as the default experience across Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora Workstation, SUSE Linux Enterprise, Vanilla OS, Endless OS, and more.
